Oat cream—so versatile with many dishes

Oat cream is not hard to make one part soaked oats to 10 parts water—blend and then strain using a nutmilk bag. That's it! It can be stored in the fridge for several days. I make one litre of oat cream using 100g of soaked jumbo oats.
- I soak them overnight in enough water to cover them
- Put the soaked oats into a blender and add one litre of water
- Blend for about a minute
- Pour the mixture into a nut-milk bag and strain into a container
- Store in the fridge—will keep for several days
Once you've made your oat cream it has many uses—heated or cold. It is very easy to flavour. Use it for a dessert or a sauce.

I added some organic lemon rind and date powder for the above dessert to some warm oat cream.

I flavoured some oat cream with vanilla and date powder. Warmed it up and poured it over pears, mango, sunflower seeds, coconut flakes and 100% chocolate. Had it for breakfast.
You do not need to flavour the oat cream once you have made it. Do that when you use it. For flavouring—experiment, see what works and what does not. I have only used with sweet dishes but there is no reason not to use with when making savoury dishes.
Oat cream is easy to make—you need a blender, it keeps for several days. You will save money and packaging—win win.
